Incarnations series handles human feelings, imbalance, clashes, attraction or aversion, while playing in parallel with the experiment and the interdisciplinary aspects of the artistic shape. Works exceed limits of the unique media and develop a will of crossing. They combin electronics, video, sound, poem, fashion design in the classic sculptural practices. A search for the shape, evolving, in a perpetual mobility.
Opening this series, Memory of the interspace illustrates this idea. The "border", "the interspace" – bodies, arts – is thought here as a continuum or an alternative space, and not as a shape-limitation. Its installation follows a particular protocol, which consists in dropping this "whole bundle of sticks", and then uses fate to define the material shape of this sculpture... Sound is produced. That of the sticks, and that of the fall. This consideration lead to a long performative act, focused on the handling, the moving and the clashing of all the sticks. This act has been recorded, and now, a device replays this audio recording by superimposing it on the physical artwork...
Component inside
2017
concrete, steel, wood, electronics, on-board computer
130 x 70 x 64 cm
movement 10'40'', in a loop
Specially thought for the Grand Prix de l’Institut Bernard Magrez, Component inside is a minimalist sculptural project mixing statism and movement – activity and inactivity.
Inside the concrete block, a wooden ball moved by an electric winch tries inexorably to climb a slope, in a extremely slow way, stands still or falls invariably to its starting point ... Sisyphus. Punishment. Incarnation. Choice ... Useless purpose ? Absurd ? Maybe question isn’t just Give up / Never give up, but why to choose a way rather than the other one ?

Babel consists in an art installation, wich associates a mural projection, a sound recording and a brick made of raw clay. The projection is showed in a loop.
Inspired by Babel myth and historical reality in the same time, I want to question the ambiguity of the human relationships and the one of the identity question. To question through the cultural and linguistic dislocation the acceptance of the Other.
Between construction and destruction, I aim to explore the affects and the oscillations between the will of a united world (conformity, globalization) and its fragmentation (borders, cultural identities, particularism).

Eighteen Circumstances consists of an installation of 18 empty jars. Constructed in the same way according to a pre-defined protocol and thanks to a calibration device, these replicas, this form of cloning is reminiscent of the concept of repetition of the artistic gesture and the serial object.
This work was thought to be a performance, in which the production – or re-production – of each of these eighteen artifacts would materialize in a certain way all the circumstances surrounding me at the t. time [circum stare : to stand around] and intimately connected to my physical being.
How do these externalities, these streams of information coming from the mediates, the relationships with my loved ones, the climate, the hour of the day... influence me in a variable way between the performing moment of the first jar and the performing moment of the eighteenth jar ? How will my sensitivity (inevitably fluctuate over a period of several months) manifest itself, at the end, differently or similarly in the matter ?
Perpetua Instabile
2021
acrylic resin, steel, wood, stepper motor, sound
about 243 x 88 x 88 cm
colonne vertébrale, mouvement, équilibre
colonne vertébrale, mouvement, équilibre
As a massive spinal column, Perpetua instabile is composed of mobile blocks piled up the ones on the others and subjected to a succession of destabilizing waves. In this artwork, first the artist questions his own body in its physical deficiencies, certainly, but beyond its failures, its falls. As a metaphor of the hesitation as well of the human weakness, his "machina infernale" veils and undoes itself according to the vicissitudes, according to the movements imposed by the instability of a base.
To question verticality is to question at the same time the perfectibility of the construction - and social construction this time: the vacillations of the system, its faults as well as its shortcomings... It is still to question the utopian dreams to build finally a better world, one day...
Because, if we can see first in Perpetua instabile weakness and deviation, and this as much as on the individual scale as societal, a greater attention to the postures that the column adopts leads however to another reading.
Structured in the manner of a theatrical performance, in three acts, the underlying programming is so made that this pile of vertebrae, from a slumped state gets up a little more by each new impulse, before falling back at the end of each act. In a perpetual quest for alignment, based on an external, ambient imbalance - this being underlined by the sound material which creates a kind of permanent alert - this piece gives to see the ambiguity of our human condition, and the struggle at work between the opposite forces of duality...
